What the portal stores in your browser
The portal uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) for the following entries. They hold your sign-in and the choices you make in the interface. They are not used for tracking or advertising.
| Key | Purpose | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| synthestat_token | Your sign-in token, sent with each request so the portal knows you are signed in. | Until you sign out |
| synthestat_user | Your name, email address and account flags, to show who is signed in. | Until you sign out |
| synthestat_active_organization | The organisation workspace you opened last. | Until you clear site data |
| synthestat_active_project::<organisation> | The project you selected in each organisation. | Until you clear site data |
| synthestat.uiMode | Whether you use the simple or the advanced view. | Until you clear site data |
| synthestat.nav.sections | Which sidebar sections you opened or closed. | Until you clear site data |
| synthestat.replicationLanguage | The label language you chose in the Replication Lab. | Until you clear site data |
| synthestat.media-contrasts.<organisation> | The media contrasts you created or opened in this browser. | Until you clear site data |
| synthestat.onboarding.intent:<user> | Your answer to the first-visit chooser, so it is not shown again. | Until you clear site data |
Signing out removes the token and the user entry. The portal's own pages set no cookies. Apart from the services listed below, fonts, images and scripts are served by the portal itself; there are no analytics tags, advertising pixels or social widgets.
Services you choose that bring their own cookies
- Google sign-in: where it is offered, the sign-in page loads Google's sign-in script, which can set or read Google cookies under Google's own notices.
- Card payment: Stripe's checkout runs on Stripe's own pages, with Stripe's cookies.
- Maps: map pages load map images directly from OpenStreetMap's tile servers or Esri (ArcGIS). These requests carry your IP address and browser information.
- Staff administration: the server's staff-only administration pages use a session cookie and a security (CSRF) cookie. Customers do not use these pages.
While you are signed in, the portal records the pages you open on our server (not in your browser), for security and support. The privacy notice describes this and the technical logs of our hosting at Contabo in Germany.
Your choices
Czech law (Act No. 127/2005 Coll., section 89(3)) requires consent for storing information in your browser unless it is needed to provide a service you asked for. Everything above serves the portal you use, so there is nothing optional to accept or reject and no cookie banner. You can inspect and delete the stored entries in your browser's settings; deleting the token signs you out.
If we add optional analytics, marketing or embedded services, we will ask for your consent before they run, with “reject” as easy as “accept”. Questions: info@synthestat.com.
